Ketyri's News

I have had a Discord server up and running for some time now, with some infrastructure already in place and future stuff ready to roll. There's more than 350 members in there already, if you're interested in joining*.

There will eventually be a YouTube channel, and at some point content involving music production. I feel like there are way too many technical tutorials, and not enough out there about the art of writing music itself. My goal is essentially to wipe out all of the sleezy FOMO profiteering going on in the music production content creation world, I absolutely hate all of it. People are shocked when I tell them I use stock plug-ins for almost everything.

So yeah, join if you want, I'm busy behind the scenes trying to turn this music thing into something I can do full-time. What can I say, I hate working, and writing music just isn't work. I think I'm talented enough to be able to do it, so it's time to plant a bunch of seeds and see what grows.

*The server requires an account older than a day and a profile picture to get in (it will autokick anyone who does not meet those requirements)

Hello there, fellow Newgrounders.

What have you been up to? Is there anything I should check out in particular?

Man I remember so many people who are no longer active from about 2014 onward, who I would have forgotten if I didn't have their music in a file. That's wild. I feel sad. People come and go.

Web based game is going decently. I got some graphics going on it actually. It’s still nowhere near playable nor have I actually designed the game itself outside of the rules. However, you can have fun with the barebones UI RIGHT NOW if you want! Go visit my dev server at https://discord.gg/DdUjR4kg4S and give it a check out if you like! I’m happy to take any suggestions and help you wanna hand out as well. I’m gonna use React for the project I think. The final goal is a online web based card game you can play against other people with, similar to https://dominion.games which actually is where these template cards come from!

Ive been coding less than two months and I’m excited for what’s coming up!

Obviously I have no idea what I am doing but I am going to make this thing and hopefully in like a year I'll have gotten somewhere with it. I'm gonna use javascript (never coded in my life lol) and it'll be a web based game.

I'm not in this world. You can disregard me as you would disregard an advertisement. Look at it once and go about your day, never thinking about it again.

I am going to try reviewing people's entire music catalogues, or at least go through them and see what pops in my head. So if you see me showering your channel with reviews, that's why.

This song is among the best in the Tame Impala catalogue, for the reason of simulating a flight via music and the experience of Kevin Parker, who hates the very notion of flights.

The very music slowly picks up and gets more intense. In a jarring part towards the beginning, the drums begin to rattle like thunder and is likely trying to simulate the movement of the plane right before take off. The very name of the song simulates the various stages of flight: "Runway, Houses, City, Clouds."

The music continues to rise and rise and you get a sense of increased anxiety. Parker also is in additional emotional turmoil, speaking of taking off but being left behind. The music slows and about the three quarters mark, it finally goes into full psychedelia. I like to imagine Kevin finally asleep while the plane glides through the clouds, his thoughts rattling in his head, both good and bad.
